Biography
Practicing in Rhode Island since 1996, Rick leads the firm's Bankruptcy, Receivership & Insolvency Group, and is a member of the firm's Business, Corporate & Non-Profit Group; Trust, Estate Planning & Administration Group; and Business and Civil Litigation Group. Rick's clients include individuals and businesses with net worth/valuations from a broad financial spectrum. Rick regularly serves as a court-appointed receiver, special master, examiner, and mediator in connection with business insolvencies and shareholder disputes. Rick has lectured on topics including business entities, insolvency, and bankruptcy matters, asset protection, and estate planning.
Rick is a member of the Rhode Island and American Bar Associations, Chair of the Rhode Island Bar Association Debtor and Creditor Committee, and a member of the Turnaround Management Association, Steering Committee. He is listed in Best Lawyers in America.
Prior to joining Chace Ruttenberg & Freedman, LLP, Rick practiced for 16 years as a partner at Winograd, Shine Land & Finkle, P.C. in Providence, Rhode Island.

- 38 Studios, LLC (and related companies) - Receiver responsible for the sale of computer games and related intellectual property of company formed by former major-league pitcher Curt Schilling.
- Central Coventry Fire District - Receiver responsible for operations and effort to turn around insolvent fire district.
